Since the opening of their first gallery in Santorini in 1980, the
three artists have brought Greek and international contemporary
art at the epicentre of the island, attuning the aesthetic criteria
to the local cultural landscape. The acclaimed “painter of
Santorini,” Christoforos Asimis, sculptor Eleni Kolaitou, and
architect-painter Katonas Asimis transmute the raw materials of
Thera’s land into classic and modern lines, canvases brimming
with Santorinian nature, religious frescoes, human shapes and
precious jewellery. Completing the cycle of creation, every work
honours the island gifting the artists with inspiration. Από
την πρώτη γκαλερί που άνοιξαν στη Σαντορίνη το 1980, οι
τρεις καλλιτέχνες έχουν φέρει στο επίκεντρο του νησιού την
ελληνική και παγκόσμια σύγχρονη τέχνη, εναρμονίζοντας
τα αισθητικά κριτήρια με το εγχώριο πολιτιστικό τοπίο.
Ο διάσημος «ζωγράφος της Σαντορίνης», Χριστόφορος
Ασιμής, η γλύπτρια Ελένη Κολαΐτου και ο αρχιτέκτονας
και ζωγράφος Κάτωνας Ασιμής μετουσιώνουν τις πρώτες
ύλες της θηραϊκής γης σε κλασικές και μοντέρνες γραμμές,
καμβάδες που ξεχειλίζουν σαντορινιά φύση, θρησκευτικές
νωπογραφίες, ανθρώπινες φόρμες και πολύτιμα κοσμήματα.
Ολοκληρώνοντας τον κύκλο της δημιουργίας, όλα τα έργα
τιμούν το νησί που χάρισε την έμπνευση στους καλλιτέχνες του.
